Check the Nevada licence for an online visit

Telehealth means care from a distance, including a video or phone visit.

As of September 28, 2026, a doctor, nurse or other health professional treating someone in Nevada by phone or video generally needs a valid Nevada licence or certificate for that profession.

As of September 28, 2026, Nevada permits a first phone or video visit with a doctor or another health professional if it can meet the patient's medical needs.

Give the service the location you will be in for the visit, including while travelling. Ask which job the person's licence or certificate allows them to do, then use the board search below for that job.

What the source establishes

A phone visit is included in Nevada's definition, but that does not make every phone-based prescription appropriate.

Expect a chance to ask questions

In May 2026, the Federation of State Medical Boards adopted guidance saying that choosing a medicine only from a website menu is not proper care. The group also says a set of fixed online questions cannot be the sole basis for treatment.

The guidance says patients need a way to contact the person who treated them for further questions after their visit.

Ask how to contact your treating health professional once the visit ends and who arranges any examination or tests you need.

What the source establishes

The federation offers advice to the state bodies that oversee doctors. Those bodies decide how to use it; the advice itself is not Nevada law.

Ask: Which pharmacy prepares my medicine, and which pharmacy sends it to me?

What the source establishes

A licence confirms permission to practise; it does not establish that every medicine supplied has FDA approval.

Before accepting a treatment plan

Ask what the visit found about your health, what other treatments were considered, and how the care team will check whether treatment is helping. Bring the cost questions back into the conversation.

Test the product claims

Check research labels, compounding claims and reasons to pause.
